POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager, Product & Event Marketing, will implement marketing plans to position and promote ULI products and events as part of the Institute’s overarching marketing strategy. These include conferences, online and in-person learning programs, award programs, and revenue-generating publications created by ULI’s research centers and member authors. This person will be responsible for presenting our events and products in ways that will drive customer satisfaction and member participation; maximize revenue; increase content distribution, usage, and business practice adoption; and ultimately boost the Institute’s impact. A creative and quantitative thinker is needed for this role. This person should be familiar with various product marketing and management techniques, including direct response marketing, digital marketing, and the development of pricing and product extension strategies.
This is a full-time exempt position located in Washington, D.C. reporting to the Vice President, Membership & Marketing.
- Understand and stay informed about ULI’s overall strategies, product offerings, and target audiences in order to provide exceptional marketing support to internal clients.
- Support overall marketing strategy by implementing effective marketing plans and tactics that meet and exceed product use and revenue goals.
- Use best-practice marketing techniques, including A/B testing, data analytics, and KPIs, to maximize effectiveness and impact.
- Manage a portfolio of events and products.
- Manage marketing communications for multiple product lines, including developing and implementing marketing plans; determining and selecting target audiences; creating key messaging and themes; and overseeing the development, production, and distribution of marketing assets.
- Create targeted marketing plans for each project, including product use and revenue goals, strategies, programs and tactics, achievement metrics, and budget.
- Drive campaign marketing tactics, including direct mail, email, social media, digital and print advertising, and website placements.
- Collaborate with internal customers, including designers, copywriters, editors, and social media, learning, media relations, and digital web teams, in support of campaign goals.
- Liaise with external vendors as appropriate, including consultants, list brokers, digital ad agencies, printers/mail houses, and other third parties in support of marketing tactics.
- Analyze, report, and use metrics to evaluate and improve campaigns and strategies.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five years of marketing experience required.
- Experience in email marketing execution and automation.
- Skilled project manager able to coordinate multiple, complex projects.
- Experience in market analysis.
- Familiar with multichannel marketing tactics (e.g., integrated marketing campaigns).
- Working knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends).
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Strong time-management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
- Creative mind-set.
- Copywriting experience is a plus.
- BS/BA in marketing, communications, or similar field.
