Job Description
Description
One of South Florida’s most innovative and active commercial real estate companies (based in Miami with a satellite office in New York City) is seeking an associate to assist the principals of the firm in all aspects of running an entrepreneurial company. The firm is affiliated with a large family office, and thus has discretionary capital and a flexible mandate that allows it to source compelling opportunities across: asset classes, the capital structure, and operating roles. While the firm keeps a low profile, its portfolio includes greater than $500mm in acquisitions and developments in the last 18 months, as well an operating role in a fast-growing specialty real estate lender. The President of the firm is a former partner in one of the country’s largest development companies and has an exemplary reputation and deep industry relationships. The role is intended for an entrepreneurial individual who is seeking a fast-paced and unstructured environment consistent with a small but very well-capitalized and fast-growing organization. The opportunity is attractive for individuals early in their career who desire to gain significant responsibility earlier than a normal career progression. The role is "partner-track" with equity participation to be included in the compensation after a short period.
Responsibilities: • Underwriting and reviewing potential transactions • Asset management of existing portfolio • Negotiating, structuring, and closing new transactions, including reviewing transaction documents, and “quarterbacking” due diligence and closing process • Various operational matters inherent in an entrepreneurial real estate environment
Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree from a top academic institution • two to five years of experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, development, brokerage, or CRE lending • Strong analytic skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office • Familiarity with transaction documents (JV Agreements, Letter of Intent, Term Sheet, Loan Documents, etc…)
Role available in New York City with travel between New York and Miami anticipated
