About the CEO
Mark J. Weinstein is the Founder and President of MJW Investments, a Santa Monica-based real estate investment firm he established in 1983 after a brief career as an attorney. Under his leadership, MJW has developed and owned over 5 million square feet of property, specializing in revitalizing and repositioning multifamily and student housing properties in high-barrier-to-entry markets
Weinstein is renowned for spearheading the adaptive reuse of Santee Village, one of Los Angeles’ largest projects of its kind, transforming over 800,000 square feet in the Fashion District into mixed-use space His strategic vision has led MJW to amass a diversified portfolio of student housing properties across major universities, including Michigan State, Washington State, Brigham Young University, UC Santa Barbara, Oregon, Arizona State, and Texas Tech.

He has also served in leadership roles with numerous civic and philanthropic organizations, including a three-year term as Chair of the Jewish Federation’s Real Estate Construction Division and active involvement with the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and the Guardians, an agency dedicated to serving the elderly .
Weinstein's contributions to real estate and the community have been recognized with several honors, including being named one of the 500 Most Influential People in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal for multiple consecutive years .
