About the CEO
Brian Thompson is the Founder of Marker Management and leads the firm’s real estate activities. With over 22 years’ experience in student housing, his career includes roles at some of the most active and respected investment firms in the US. Across his career he has participated in the structuring, acquisition, and development of over $13 billion of student housing real estate.
Before forming Marker in 2020, he spent 9 years leading the Education investment platform for Harrison Street Real Estate Capital. He also held roles at CA Ventures, Core Spaces, and GMH Communities, where he began his career as an analyst.
In 2013 Globe Street named him one of 12 national “Student Housing Pioneers”. He is a member of ULI’s Student Housing Council, NMHC’s Student Housing Committee, their Research Council, and a regular speaker at industry events.
