DHC
Detroit Housing Commission
About the Company
DHC provides quality affordable housing in a safe living environment for low and moderate- income persons throughout the Detroit Metropolitan area. As the largest public housing agency in Michigan, we continue to be a catalyst for change. We have modernized our public housing stock, developed state of the art affordable housing in mixed-income communities, and streamlined internal processes to ensure excellent customer service. We work to enhance quality of life for the people we serve by offering our customers opportunities to participate in a multitude of community, educational, recreational, homeownership, and training programs. In addition, to operating a Low-Income Public Housing Program, the DHC also operates a Housing Choice Voucher Program (“Section 8”) through its Assisted Housing Department. Currently, the DHC administers approximately 6000 vouchers under the Section 8 Program.
